The Causes

Fen Challenge 2003 is raising money for two community services:

Willingham Baptist Tabernacle Church

Willingham Tabernacle Baptist Church is a lively and growing evangelical Baptist Church situated in the heart of the village of Willingham. A new church building was erected in 1990 on the site of the original church, which was founded in 1873. The current building is now in need of some updating to keep up with its growing attendance and activity and there is a particular need to provide toilet facilities, which meet the needs of the elderly and people with disabilities, and with a growing congregation to also provide baby changing facilities!

The alterations to the building will make the church more accessible to all those with special needs and enhance its endeavours to be 'a church for the WHOLE community'. Draft building plans have been produced and it is hoped that work will commence early in 2004. The sponsorship money will be used to support the provision of the special needs facilities outlined above.
