The 2003 Route
|
The intrepid team followed a circular route with
as much as possible off road.(Anyone who has tried kayaking on-road
will instinctively know the sense of this.)
In
an attempt to re-create the Medieval challenge of travelling in
the Fens without roads, the route followed (approximately) the ancient
highways of the Hereward Way and Peddars Way from Willingham, going
via Ely, Thetford, towards Swaffham and Downham Market and along
the Rivers Little Ouse and Wissey in the heart of the Methwold Fen.
